Marine Parade / Kallang URA Master Plan and Transformations

Residents of The Continuum can look forward to extensive upgrades and transformation in the neighbourhood under the URA Master Plan for Marine Parade and the Kallang region that can improve their quality of life and the values of their homes. The planned upgrades will further enhance connectivity, recreational spaces and commercial developments in the Eastern precinct. Eventually, five new MRT Stations, namely Tanjong Rhu, Katong Park, Tanjong Katong, Marine Parade and Marine Terrace, will be added to boost connectivity for the Greater Southern region by 2024.

Residents can also expect more recreational spaces and activities at The Sports Hub, plan Benaan Kapal waterfront and the Kallang River. Most importantly, more housing and commercial opportunities will be created in the precinct to ensure more Singaporeans can work closer to home to improve work-life balance and reach URA's goal to make Singapore a great city to live, work and play in.

1. Improved Connectivity with New MRT Stations

The Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) will bring five new MRT stations to the Marine Parade and Kallang region, namely Tanjong Rhu, Katong Park, Tanjong Katong, Marine Parade and Marine Terrace. These additions will give residents of The Continuum more direct travel options across the island and reduce commuting times to the city, Orchard Road and the Greater Southern Waterfront.

2. New Recreational and Waterfront Spaces

The Kallang River, Benaan Kapal waterfront and the Singapore Sports Hub precinct are set for rejuvenation, with more park connectors, recreational nodes and waterfront promenades. These green and blue spaces will give The Continuum residents easy access to lifestyle, sports and leisure amenities right at their doorstep.

3. More Housing, Jobs and Commercial Vibrancy

Under the URA Master Plan, the Kallang and Greater Southern Waterfront areas are earmarked for new homes, offices and commercial developments. By creating more opportunities to live and work closer to home, the transformation can support healthy capital appreciation and rental demand for homes in District 15, including The Continuum.
